Rawalpindi: In a landmark move to facilitate residents, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi has launched a smart mobile application for its online billing system. The app, named “WASA Rwp,” is now available on the Google Play Store and will allow users to easily check and pay their bills, as well as register complaints without visiting WASA offices.
Speaking at the launching ceremony at WASA Headquarters, Vice Chairman Haroon Kamal highlighted that the new mobile app reflects international standards of innovation and will bridge the gap between service providers and citizens.

He also appreciated the efforts of WASA’s IT staff for developing the app without incurring any cost to the national exchequer.
Over the past three years, WASA Rawalpindi has implemented several reforms to improve service delivery. Multiple complaint centers have been set up, while water supply and sanitation issues have been addressed on priority. The agency also recorded a significant increase in revenue during this period.
Furthermore, WASA has accelerated work on Chahan Dam and Dadocha Dam projects, which are expected to add nearly 31 million gallons of water per day to the city’s supply, addressing the long-standing water shortage issue.
